Old School Color Cycling with HTML5 | Joe's Blog | EffectGames.com

Anyone remember Color cycling from the 90s? This was a technology often used in 8-bit video games of the era, to achieve interesting visual effects by cycling (shifting) the color palette. Back then video cards could only render 256 colors at a time, so a palette of selected colors was used. But the programmer could change this palette at will, and all the onscreen colors would instantly change to match. It was fast, and took virtually no memory. Thus began the era of color cycling.

Apple - Magic Trackpad - The Multi-Touch trackpad for your desktop.

Am I the only one disappointed that the leaked Apple track pad news, just turned out to be a new mac desktop track pad; rather than some clever input device for the new apple TV.

iPhone Bumper refunds start rolling out

Dear Apple Customer,

Apple recently announced that iPhone 4 customers who purchased an iPhone 4 Bumper are eligible for a full refund.

As of today, we have automatically processed your refund.

Thank you for choosing Apple.

Sincerely,
Apple Online Store Support

Answers to many Apple Online Store questions can be found at online Help: http://store.apple.com/us/help

I got my iPhone Bumber refund this morning. I was under the impression that it would need to be initiated by the customer, rather than an automated refund. A customer initiated refund would have been cheaper, since not all customers would go through the trouble. But, kudos to them for handling the refunds correctly.

Safari v4 and v5 security flaw

All a malicious website would have to do to surreptitiously extract Address Book card data from Safari is dynamically create form text fields with the aforementioned names, probably invisibly, and then simulate A-Z keystroke events using JavaScript. When data is populated, that is AutoFill’ed, it can be accessed and sent to the attacker.

Some creative Safari hacking which only works on a Mac (i.e. not iOS).

How a 15-yo Kid Tricked Apple With a Disguised iPhone Tethering App

On the surface, Handy Light just allowed you to make your iPhone's screen go blank with a color of your choice. You opened it, clicked a swatch from a simple palette, and that was it: Life in technicolor. Another stupid flashlight application, like a hundred others. Or so the people who test applications at Apple's App Store thought.
